Luka Nedic, a varsity soccer player at South, has had a remarkable impact on the field for the packers this season.

Nedic was instrumental in leading his team to an undefeated 13-0 record. This places South’s soccer team as a front runner ahead of the state championship in early May.

” I came to South because I wanted to be a part of a school with a great soccer tradition and my school wasn’t as rich in that tradition,” Nedic said. This is Nedic’s first year at South. Currently a senior, Nedic spent the first three years of his high school career at Lincoln North Star.

Nedic was born in the United but he returns to Bosnia every summer to play on a U-19 Red Star Academy soccer team. Currently, he does not plan to stay in the US to attend college.

Many people have noticed Nedic’s performance on the field this year.

“He’s been a positive role model for everyone in the program,” Varsity Coach Joseph Maass said. “He prepares for soccer the right way and it has been contagious through out our 2019 season.”
